Vorstellung

Patricia Vidal is a lawyer in the Madrid office of Uría Menéndez. Patricia joined the firm in 1996, spent nearly three years in the Brussels office, and became counsel in 2008 and partner in 2015. Her practice focuses mainly on EU law and on EU and Spanish competition law.

She has worked on a wide variety of national and international cartel cases (including leniency programmes) before the Spanish and EU authorities, and is regularly asked to advise on mergers (including the coordination of international multi-filings), analyse agreements and strategic alliances, state aid issues and infringement proceedings for the abuse of a dominant position. She has also taken part in proceedings regarding the “four EU freedoms” in the energy and banking sectors.

Patricia has vast experience in competition litigation before the Spanish and the EU courts.

She regularly advises companies in a variety of sectors, such as insurance, motor vehicles, telecommunications, media, food and agriculture, industrial and building materials, transport, consumer products, pharmaceuticals and energy.

Patricia is regarded as a leading lawyer by Chambers Global and Chambers Europe. She has also been named a recommended lawyer in Spain for EU and competition law by Practical Law Company, Global Counsel 3000, and Competition Law Handbooks.

Patricia is one of the few Spanish lawyers to be recognised by the UK directory Women in Business Law, which is part of the Expert Guides series published by Legal Media Group, and in Women in Antitrust 2016, which is published by the Global Competition Review.
