Carlos de Miguel is a partner in the Madrid office of
Uría Menéndez. He joined the firm in 1988 and became a partner in 2002.
Carlos’ area of expertise is environmental law. He
also advises on energy and real estate law.
He advises clients of all economic sectors on all
types of environmental matters, whether ad hoc advice,
commercialtransactions (M&A, loans, IPOs, etc.) and litigation (before
administrative, civil and criminal courts).
He frequently prepares reports on environmental
issues, and advises on the relationship with the authorities on
environmental matters (authorisations, environmental impact assessment,
etc.).
He has also participated in drafting environmental
legislation.

Legal Teaching
Since 1988 Carlos has been a lecturer on Civil Law and,
since 1997, of Environmental Law at the Universidad Pontificia Comillas
(“ICADE”). He is a regular speaker and commentator on masters courses and at
seminars and conferences pertaining to his field of expertise, both in Spain
and abroad.
