Jorge Caramés is based in the Bilbao office of Uría Menéndez. He joined the firm as a partner in 1999, having previously been joint managing partner of a local firm in Bilbao.

Jorge specialises in property law, contract law and civil and commercial litigation. He also has extensive experience in company and insolvency law, advising on transactions and proceedings before the courts and arbitration tribunals.

He regularly advises several leading companies in Bilbao and the surrounding areas on their general legal matters, litigation, and as secretary to their boards.

Legal Teaching

  • Assistant lecturer in Civil Law at the Universidad de Zaragoza, 1971-1973.

  • Lecturer in Civil Law at the Universidad de Deusto, Bilbao, since 1976.
