Ángel Alonso is a lawyer in the Madrid office of Uría
Menéndez. He joined the firm in 1997 and became a partner in 2009.
Ángel was seconded to the London office of Slaughter and May from
September 1999 to February 2000. Ángel has extensive
experience in mergers and acquisitions, finance, private equity
investments and general commercial matters. He specializes in
restructuring, distressed investments and insolvency, having at various
times advised all the parties involved when companies are in financial
difficulty (debtors, company directors, creditors, receivers, etc.).
His practice has an international scope as most of the transactions and
insolvencies on which he has advised have cross-border elements. Ángel
has worked with clients in a wide range of economic sectors, including
the real estate, financial services, hotel, technology and industrial
sectors. |
Legal Teaching
He participates regularly as a speaker and panellist at
seminars and conferences on subjects related to his field of expertise.
Lecturer on Insolvency Law and Corporate Recovery for the
Master’s Degree in Legal Practice at the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas
in Madrid (2000-2006).
Lecturer on the International Business Course at the
Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (2005).
