Duarte Vasconcelos is a partner based in the Lisbon office of Uría Menéndez. He joined the firm in 2004 when his previous firm, Vasconcelos, F. Sá Carneiro, Fontes & Associados - one of the most prestigious Portuguese law firms, founded in 1993 - integrated with Uría Menéndez.

Duarte Vasconcelos has had a diverse professional career, having been, amongst other things, head of the legal department and director of “Imoleasing - Sociedade de Locacao Financeira Imobiliaria, S.A.” between 1982-1986 and legal adviser of the Secretary of State for financial affairs betweeen 1986 and 1990. Furthermore, in 1986 he founded the law firm Coelho Ribeiro & Associados, which he left in 1993 to found the firm Vasconcelos, F. Sá Carneiro, Fontes & Associados.

His specialist areas of practice are essentially corporate law and mergers and acquisitions. He is the partner and head of the Commercial and Corporate Department, where he advises both Portuguese and international private clients.
