Elena Úbeda is a partner in the Barcelona office of Uría Menéndez. She joined the firm in 1990 and became a partner in 2003.

Elena focuses her practice on Commercial Law and has acquired particular expertise in the acquisition and restructuring of companies both at home and abroad. She has participated in numerous transactions such as the following:

• Mergers and spin-offs.

• Advising on major sales and acquisitions of companies, covering all stages of the transactions, from the due diligence process and negotiations through to the closing, mainly in the food, chemical and metallurgical sectors.

• Advising on private offers for the acquisition of companies, leading and participating in the preparation and the lodging of such offers.

• Advising on numerous joint-ventures in the industrial, commercial and services sectors.

• Advising on complex restructuring of assets of multinational companies.

• Advising on the restructuring of real estate, particularly in the hotel trade.

Elena frequently advises French and Belgian clients on their investments in Spain and provides them with continuous legal advice on a wide range of areas (such as contract, commercial and company law).

Elena is now acquiring expertise in the development and implementation of securitization programmes of assets and receivables through national and international structures, and is developing a vaste experience in the field of private equity.
