Luis Viñuales is a partner of the Tax Department of the Barcelona office of Uría Menéndez. He joined the Firm in 1997 and became a partner in December 2002.

Luis provides advice to both resident and non resident entities on the tax implications of inbound and outbound investments in various sectors (banking and financial, energy, industrial, consulting and services). He frequently renders tax advice on business transactions of a cross border nature. He also advises on the taxation of public-private initiatives for the funding of public infrastructures and facilities.

In recent years Luis has worked on matters concerning the OECD’s and EU’s initiatives against harmful tax competition between countries.

Luis also has expertise in personal taxation matters, having advised sportsmen and high net worth individuals on their tax planning.
