Pablo González-Espejo is a lawyer based in the Madrid office of Uría
Menéndez. He joined the firm in 1994 and was made Partner in 2004.
From 1999 to September 2003, Pablo was based in the Sao Paulo office
which he opened and headed up. He was also one of the first foreign
lawyers to be registered with the Brazilian Bar (Ordem dos Advogados do
Brasil). During his years spent in Brazil, he was involved in financial
transactions, acquisitions and joint ventures, of which we can highlight
the following:
- the acquisition of a local bank and the launch of the takeover of
another financial entity;
- joint ventures between foreign and Brazilian companies in several
sectors;
- the acquisition of several local companies by foreign investors;
- the financing of projects for the construction of high voltage
lines.
In October 2003, Pablo rejoined the Madrid office of Uría Menéndez.
Since then, his practice has focused on commercial and company law,
principally on audiovisual and telecommunications law.
Pablo provides day-to-day advice, particularly on regulatory and
commercial issues, to companies which operate in the aforementioned
sectors. He has also recently been involved in major transactions
assisting businesses and investors in these sectors.
Pablo has been recognized by Chambers Global for his work in New
Technologies Law and TMT.
Pablo also heads the Sports Law practice at Uría Menéndez, advising
clubs and athletes in a wide variety of matters. |
