Location of the office

Uría Menéndez opened its New York office in 1990.

The practice in the New York office is primarily focused on assisting our North American-based clients on a wide range of corporate and tax issues, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity, finance and capital markets matters, and investment structures. Through the New York office our clients also benefit from the full-service legal expertise of Uría Menéndez’s Spanish, Portuguese and international offices in their own time zone, and according to the standards and practices of the North American legal market.

Our office in New York is also used by some of our clients to manage and structure projects in the U.S. and Canada. Whilst our attorneys in the New York office do not advise on U.S. or Canadian law, they are familiar with corporate and tax issues in those jurisdictions and they maintain close relationships with major U.S. and Canadian law firms with which we work on the matters entrusted to us, ensuring the effective coordination of the legal advice provided to our clients.

Finally, our New York office is a gateway to our Latin American network, through which we advise international investors on a variety of matters, including tax-efficient inbound and outbound investment structures in the region, with the support of prestigious local law firms.
