Carlos de Cárdenas Smith is based in the Madrid
office of Uría Menéndez. He joined the firm in 1989 and became a partner
in 1998. He was resident partner in the firm’s New York office between
1997 and 2000. Carlos focuses his practice on M&A,
banking and finance. He has worked in the most significant project
finance transactions in Spain. Carlos was named
Leading Individual in Banking and Finance by Chambers Global 2003 and
2004-2005. He was regarded as Highly Recommended in the 2003-2004 and
2005 editions of Global Counsel 3000 and as a Leading Lawyer and key
contact partner in the 2004 and 2005 editions of IFLR 1000 for Project
Finance. His name also appears in Euromoney’s Guide of 2004 to the
World’s Leading Project Finance Lawyers. |
Legal Teaching
He has been a Commercial Law lecturer at the Universidad
Pontificia de Comillas (“ICADE”) and at the Centro de Estudios
Universitarios (“CEU”), both in Madrid. He is a regular speaker and
commentator at law seminars and conferences pertaining to his field of
expertise.
