Jorge Martí is a partner in the Valencia office of
Uría Menéndez. He joined the firm in 1991 and became a
partner in 1996. He opened the firm’s London office in 1991 and was
resident in London until 1996. Jorge has an extensive
corporate, banking and finance and M&A practice. He was named
Recommended Individual for M&A in the 2003-2004 and 2005 editions of
Global Counsel 3000. Jorge’s name also appears in the 2004 edition of
Euromoney’s Guide to the World’s Leading Capital Markets Lawyers.
Jorge also has a strong european and competition law background. He has
an insurance, energy and private equity practice holding the position of
Secretary to the Board of Directors of leading companies in all these
areas.
Jorge was appointed Chairman of the Company Law
Commission at the UIA (Union Internationale des Avocats) Congress held
in October 2002. |
Legal Teaching
Between 1986 and 1988, Jorge was assistant lecturer in
the Law Department of the College of Europe, Bruges (Belgium).
Between 1993 and 1995, Jorge was a lecturer in
Institutional and Constitutional Law and procedures of the European
Communities at King’s College, in London.
In the period between 1996 and 1998, he was an associate
lecturer at the University of Valencia, lecturing on “Economic International
Law”.
Since 1999, Jorge has been a tenure lecturer in “Economic
International Law” and in “Commercial Law of the EEC” at the Universidad
Cardenal Herrera in Valencia, Spain.
