Manuel García-Villarrubia is a lawyer in the Madrid office of Uría Menéndez. He joined the firm in 1995 and became a partner in January 2005.

Manuel focuses his practice primarily on civil and administrative litigation. With regard to civil and commercial matters, Manuel has been involved in all areas of judicial and arbitration proceedings, including some of the most prominent proceedings brought before the Spanish courts and domestic and international arbitration tribunals. These include, among others, proceedings challenging corporate agreements adopted by listed and non-listed companies; corporate disputes; claims for payment; breach of contract disputes; construction proceedings; unfair competition proceedings; proceedings regarding the infringement of industrial property rights; and insolvency proceedings. He also has extensive experience in enforcement proceedings and in proceedings for the recognition and enforcement in Spain of foreign judicial decisions and arbitration awards.

His experience on administrative litigation has led Manuel to appear in judicial proceedings on questions related to the awarding of public contracts and administrative dispensations; the awarding of public subsidies; administrative sanctions imposed on companies regarding auditing, defence of competition, environmental issues, regulation of financial entities and stock markets, etc.

Manuel also advises both public and private entities on all aspects of administrative law (public contracts, public subsidies, infringement proceedings, compulsory purchase orders, telecommunications, Public Administrations’ liability, regulation of financial entities and stock markets, insurance, etc).
