UM advises Telefónica España for the launch of FibreCo

UM has advised Telefónica España on a joint venture with Vodafone España for the launch of FibreCo. This new entity will manage a fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network covering 3.6 million real estate units throughout Spain and will provide access services to its shareholders so that they can, in turn, serve retail and wholesale customers.

The project represents approximately 12% of Telefónica España’s fibre network in Spain and will begin by connecting around 1.4 million end customers Telefónica España will hold a 63% stake in FibreCo, with Vodafone España holding the remaining 37%.
