Uría Menéndez began its art collection in 2005 at the initiative of Rodrigo Uría. The works of young artists from around the world (Portuguese, Peruvian, Spanish, English and Russian amongst them) have been acquired to support contemporary art.

The collection includes figurative works, as well as others that are closer in their approach to Russian constructivism and geometric abstraction. The leitmotif of the collection is the relationship between the individual and his environment; philosophy, art and nature. The works encompass varied mediums, including painting, photography, sculpture and prints.

The Uría Menéndez collection seeks to showcase a variety of contemporary artistic expressions, which in turn reflect a plural, globalised world.
