We have joined the UN Global Compact and have embraced the Sustainable Development Goals.
We offer a challenging and dynamic workplace, encourage healthy working habits through the humanum health-promotion programme and ClubUM organises cultural, sporting, leisure and charity team-building activities.
We are determined to eliminate gender-based barriers and achieve equal treatment and opportunities for men and women at Uría Menéndez. We organise awareness-raising and training activities as part of our Equality Plan, and have specific policies in place to improve work-life balance.
We are especially proud of the diversity at the firm. We have lawyers of 25 nationalities, who speak 15 languages and span three generations. We have joined the #CEOPorLaDiversidad alliance and signed the Spanish diversity charter.
The LGBTI & Allies Desk promotes an inclusive workplace where everyone can achieve their goals, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Uría Menéndez was twice recognised for its good practices in promoting diversity at the Chambers Diversity & Inclusion Awards that took place in Amsterdam in 2019.
We collaborate with entities that help people with disabilities find work and assist Uría Menéndez personnel with family members who have disabilities to achieve their full integration in society and the workplace through our Family Plan.
Our Environmental Policy serves as a framework for how we conduct and improve all of our business activities. We also have a Manual of Environmental Good Practices, which sets out the measures that we have implemented to minimise our impact on the environment. The manual focuses on waste management and reducing our consumption of energy, water, paper and toner, and includes recommendations for all of the firm’s employees.
We help people and organisations with our pro bono work and participate in community-focused, educational, cultural and art programmes run by the Professor Uría Foundation.
