Last 12 November in London, Uría Menéndez was awarded the TrustLaw Domestic Law Firm of the Year Award in the 2019 TrustLaw Awards. This award recognises ground-breaking pro bono projects carried out by lawyers for social entities and companies throughout the world.

The award recognises Uría Menéndez’s pro bono work in 2019. More than one hundred lawyers were involved in about seventy matters for some fifty social entities. Among the pro bono work recognised, was that carried out for FEDER (Spanish Rare Diseases Federation), which was coordinated by José Alberto Navarro and involved lawyers from the firm’s different offices. The work entailed a legal analysis that would enable the standardisation of access to treatment for patients with rare diseases in each autonomous community in Spain.
