Miguel Martínez Gimeno joins Uría Menéndez

State attorney on leave of absence, Miguel joins to strengthen the public law and dispute resolution teams.

Uría Menéndez’s partners have approved Miguel Martínez Gimeno’s appointment as partner to reinforce the public law and dispute resolution teams of the firm’s Madrid office.

Miguel Martínez Gimeno is a state attorney on leave of absence (2003 promotion). He was a deputy-chief state attorney at the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (2004-2007), a legal secretary at the Court of Justice of the European Union (2007-2013), a chief state attorney at the Department for the Economy and Business Support (2013-2015) and chief state attorney in the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness (2015-2016). Since 2017, he has held the post of head of the Legal Service and secretary to the board of the Spanish Securities Market Commission (CNMV).

He is the author of several articles on topics such as securities market law and EU law, and he is currently a lecturer at ICAI-ICADE University (Madrid).
