Uría Menéndez’s Art Law team has advised the Museo Nacional del Prado on the lengthy process to bring to Spain the collection of miniatures that William B. Jordan bequeathed to the museum. The works were temporarily held in the custody of the Dallas Museum of Art.

The American art historian, curator, and advocate left to the Prado Museum, among other works, a collection of 28 miniatures created on an array of media, some of which are protected under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, and therefore required the appropriate authorisations to bring them into Spain.

Uría Menéndez advised the museum throughout this process, liaising with the US Government and the other agents involved. The collection of miniatures is now housed in the museum.

Carles Vendrell (partner, Digital Law and Intangible Assets and Santiago Fernández Tourné (associate, Public Law) advised on this operation.
