Uría Menéndez advises LaLiga on strategic agreement with Galaxy Racer

The firm has advised LaLiga on the creation of a 15-year joint venture with Galaxy Racer (GXR), the world’s largest eSports, gaming and lifestyle organisation, to boost the presence of the LaLiga brand in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region and the Indian subcontinent. Among other activities, the joint venture will act as a television rights agency for these regions, and the new business, in which LaLiga and GXR will each have a 50% stake, is expected to generate more than EUR 3 billion in revenue.

The team at Uría Menéndez was led by Rafael Núñez Lagos, and included Marta Giner, Carla Alonso, Éanna Malone, Luis Díaz González and Pablo Bonmatí Collado. Antonio Guerra and Margot Lopes Martins were in charge of advising on competition law, while Marcos Fraile contributed on intellectual property law issues.
