Uría Menéndez holds inaugural UM LegalTech Day

Uría Menéndez has hosted its first UM LegalTech Day. The event brought together some of the key players in the sector to explore how technological developments and innovation are transforming legal practice and the legal industry.

Organised by Uría Menéndez’s Artificial Intelligence Group, the event’s hybrid format featured an exhibition area with live expert demonstrations and presentations, and live streaming of the morning’s key sessions to the rest of the firm’s offices.

Vlex, Parallel, Luminance, Relativity, Litera, iManage and Scriptum AI were among the leading companies that presented cutting-edge solutions specifically tailored to legal practice.

Notable speakers included Albert Ferré (Global LegalTech Hub), David Hurtado Torán (Microsoft Spain) and José Luis Antón (Gartner), who shared their views on the current state of digital transformation in the legal industry, as well as future predictions.

 

Uría Menéndez’s LegalTech solutions

From its own stand, Uría Menéndez’s innovation team showcased the technological tools already in use at the firm, as well as developments and recent success stories.

The tools featured included AutodocUM, which automates legal documents, and MomentUM, for managing complex matters with advanced data analysis, visual reporting and secure collaboration with clients, as well as a financial reporting project designed for the detailed monitoring of matters, which allows both lawyers and clients to check their status.

Uría Menéndez’s Automation Team, together with members of its Information Technology Department and the AI Group, explained the projects they are working on and answered questions about the AI tools the firm uses on a daily basis. At Uría Menéndez, all professionals have access to generative AI tools; lawyers have access to Legora and Harvey, and support staff have access to ChatGPT Enterprise.
