UM advises Banco Sabadell on defence against BBVA takeover bid

Uría Menéndez is proud to have successfully defended the interests of its client, Banco Sabadell. Working closely with PCB Byrne LLP, our team of lawyers had the claim brought against several companies of the Cerberus group upheld in full. They obtained an order for payment of €358 million in principal and €47 million in interest.

This success was achieved in the context of complex court proceedings relating to the deferred price of the sale and purchase of three real estate portfolios, which were conducted in the United Kingdom.
