The move, responding to the Firm’s strategic growth needs, will take place in the first few months of 2005

June 3, 2003

URÍA & MENÉNDEZ has reached an agreement with Testa Inmuebles en Renta S.A. (filial of Sacyr Vallehermoso) to rent the building occupied until now by Endesa. The move, responding to the Firm’s strategic growth needs, will take place in the first few months of 2005, once the new office has been completely and thoroughly renovated and converted into one of the most modern buildings in Madrid.

The new URÍA & MENÉNDEZ headquarters will be located in an emblematic building, designed by architect Eleuterio Población and built in 1984, at 187 Príncipe de Vergara St. CB Richard Ellis and the architectural office of Rafael de la Hoz advised URÍA & MENÉNDEZ in the transaction.

The head office will consist of a main building with three basement levels, and a total of 9,469 square metres spread over twelve floors, and an annex of an additional 466 square metres.

URÍA & MENÉNDEZ will place the most modern telecommunication and computer systems in its new office, adding to the numerous technologies it currently employs. To best serve its clients, it will offer the most suitable infrastructure. The office will increase its wireless connection systems, introduce e-meetings in the individual offices, and launch extranet systems for clients, among other reforms. Furthermore, the Firm will continue to improve its innovative knowledge management system, while the library will occupy a prime location within the new building.

The most modern techniques to reduce paper files to a minimum will be used. This policy, among other systems with the same aim, will make an important contribution to URÍA & MENÉNDEZ’ environmental protection commitment. The building design will permit the division of translucent floors into offices, to guarantee confidentiality. The same will hold true of the numerous meeting and lawyer training rooms, which will be equipped with the most modern communication and education technology.
