Uría Menéndez incorporates six lawyers from Fraústo da Silva & Associados in Portugal

Uría Menéndez to strengthen its labour law department

Uría Menéndez incorporated six lawyers from the Portuguese firm Fraústo da Silva & Associados, including two of the firm’s three partners, Filipe Fraústo da Silva and Sofia Martins. This addition strengthens the labour law department of the Lisbon office.

Fraústo da Silva & Associados is a leading Portuguese law firm founded two decades ago by Filipe Fraústo da Silva, a lawyer specialising in labour law. Since the firm’s establishment, it has provided legal advice for major Portuguese companies.

Joana Brisson, Alice Pereira de Campos, Cláudia Borges Lopes and Madalena Osório will join Filipe Fraústo da Silva, coordinator of the labour law team, in the reinforcement of the firm’s labour law practice. Sofia Martins will join Uría Menéndez’s commercial and litigation department.

Filipe Fraústo da Silva has been a lawyer since 1989 and specialises in labour law. He graduated in Judicial Sciences from the Faculty of Human Sciences of the Universidad Católica Portuguesa in 1987 and completed a masters in labour law in the Instituto de Derecho de Trabajo of the Universidad de Lisboa in 2000. In recent years, he has been named delegate of the Ordem dos Advogados by the Tribunal de Trabajo in Lisbon and member of the Consejo Superior del Ministerio Público.

Sofia Martins has been a lawyer since 1998. Her areas of practice include insurance, commercial, corporate, real estate and general civil law. She graduated from the Universidad de Lisboa. Sofia Martins completed a masters degree in Information Society Law from the Universidad de Lisboa as well as a masters degree in Environmental Law and Town Planning from the Universidad de Coimbra.
