Uría Menéndez hosts the European Privacy Officers Network (EPON) conference “Employee surveillance in Europe: Balancing privacy rights and management control”

This conference has been organised to be held the day before the 31st International Conference for Data Protection and Privacy Regulators which will take place in Madrid on 4-6 November, 2009.

The firm will host this session on November 3rd, analysing the balance between privacy/data protection and management control in view of the increasing conflict in Europe and the serious legal and reputational risks that any company may be facing, also looking at the implications for unfair competition, antitrust behaviour, IP rights infringements and security breaches.

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn and interact with first class speakers: regulatory authorities from different EU countries, in-house counsel from 4 multinational companies, as well as several leading lawyers in personal data protection and labour law from 6 countries.
