Last night, Uría Menéndez was named "Spanish Tax Firm of the Year” by the well-known British publication International Tax Review in its seventh annual award ceremony. The group competed against nine other Spanish and international law firms which were also nominated.

Additionally, International Tax Review nominated Uría Menéndez as “European Tax Team of the Year” in the Capital Markets and Financial Services categories as well as “European Tax Firm of the Year” in the “Dispute Resolutions” category, positioning itself as the only Spanish law firm to be nominated for these awards.

The ceremony was held in London last night and was attended by representatives from a wide range of companies, law and accounting firms from across Europe. Uría Menéndez tax partners Rafael Fuster Tozer and Jesús López Tello accepted the award on behalf of the firm and made a joint statement saying, "we are very proud to receive this award, which represents an important acknowledgement of the sound and successful work that the Uría Menéndez tax team has been carrying out during recent years."

More than 22 years after the first copy of International Tax Review was released, the legal publication continues to be one of Britain's most widely read and respected tax publications. For its annual awards, the editorial team takes into special consideration the size of the firm’s tax team as well as the complexity and innovation involved in the transactions submitted.
