Uría Menéndez receives the European Capital Markets Tax Deal of the Year award

The award was granted by the leading publication International Tax Review (ITR)

Uría Menéndez received last week the European Capital Markets Tax Deal of the Year award for its legal advice to Santander Bank in the sale of Altamira Asset Management to Apollo Global Management. Altamira Asset Management is Santander Bank’s platform for recovery credit in dispute and real estate management.

ITR also acknowledged Uría Menéndez’s work with its best friends as they jointly received the European Tax Firm of the Year and European Tax Policy Firm of the Year awards.

ITR annually brings together in a single ceremony in London representatives from a wide range of companies, law and accounting firms from across Europe, in which has become one of the most prestigious awards in the sector. For these awards, the editorial team takes into special consideration the complexity and innovation tax legal advice provided by law firms. In this edition, ITR has added 11 new awards according to different practice areas including capital markets.

Uría Menéndez’s team in the successful capital markets deal included a group of tax lawyers led by partner Víctor Viana and associates Diego Montoya and Luis Suárez de Centi. Uría Menéndez assisted Santander Bank on the sale while Linkaters represented Apollo Global Management.
