Latin Lawyer names the Repsol vs. Argentina case Dispute Deal of the Year in Latin America

Uría Menéndez has been recognised for its role as counsel in the Dispute Deal of the Year in the 2015 edition of the Latin Lawyer Awards. With this recognition, Latin Lawyer, a prestigious legal publication focused on the Latin American market, rewards the Uría Menéndez team that coordinated Repsol’s defence in relation to the Argentinean government’s expropriation of YPF.

The award ceremony took place on 19 March in São Paulo and brought together a broad representation of both Latin American and international law firms with interests in the region.

Factors taken into consideration when deciding the winner included value, time frame, complexity, legal creativity shown, political and regulatory sensitivity and the number of jurisdictions affected by the deal.
