Ignacio Albiñana is based in Uría Menéndez’s Barcelona office. He joined the firm in 1984 and became a partner in 1993. His practice covers a wide range of commercial law matters, including advising listed and private companies on corporate governance and other company law matters. He regularly advises on mergers and acquisitions and on the structuring, negotiation and implementation of joint ventures. He also has extensive experience in real estate transactions, banking and finance law matters.
In M&A, he advises private equity firms, industrial companies, and family offices, leading multidisciplinary teams throughout the process, from structuring to implementation. He has expertise in shareholder agreements, incentive plans, and exit strategies, with experience across industries such as industrial, consumer, tourism, and real estate.
In corporate governance, he has served as Secretary to the Board of over 25 companies, including two public ones, advising on regulatory compliance, corporate policies, and crisis management.
Additionally, he provides counsel on restructurings, real estate transactions (development, financing, and divestment), and financing (structuring, acquisition finance, and project finance).
