Uría Menéndez was named best firm of the year and best real estate Firm, while María Vidal-Pardo was named best young lawyer of the year at the fifth edition of the Expansión Jurídico Awards which took place yesterday evening.

This is the fourth time the firm is named best firm of the year, which is a source of great pride to the firm. This achievement is both a tribute to the commitment and hard work of all members of the firm – lawyers and support staff – who at all times strive to provide first-rate and innovative services, and the result of our clients’ constant trust. Both aspects are critical to making us who we are and to receiving this much-deserved recognition.

Corporate lawyer María Vidal-Pardo was named best young lawyer of the year, a category in which our antitrust lawyer Tomás Arranz was a worthy finalist. María, who has been in firm since 2010, is an associate who advises mainly on M&A and regulatory and corporate governance issues, as well as on equity and debt issues. She has a law and business administration degree from ICADE, she was assigned to the Bank of Spain’s legal department between June and December 2012 and was seconded to Slaughter and May London between March and September 2014.

The firm was also named best real estate firm; some well-earned recognition for the largest real estate department in Spain with more than forty lawyers in the Madrid, Barcelona, ??Valencia and Bilbao offices that has been (or more accurately, has continued to be) involved in many of the most important transactions in 2019.

Many of the main players in the legal sector in Spain attended the event, which took place at the Duque de Pastrana Complex in Madrid under strict health and safety measures.
