David Vilches de Santos has a degree in Law and Business Administration from the Universidad Carlos III and since 2010 has worked at the Spanish Tax Agency as an inspection team leader. Since 2015 he has been a member of the National Office of International Taxation, where he specialises in matters related to transfer pricing (leading verification procedures and APAs). From 2017 he has combined this role with acting as delegate for the Spanish Government in various OECD Working Groups. He is currently on leave from his role as a tax inspector.

He has experience as a professor teaching international taxation at various institutions, including the Center for Financial Studies and ESADE business school. He regularly speaks at international taxation forums and has published numerous analyses in specialist tax publications.

Víctor Viana, the partner in charge of Uría Menéndez’s Tax and Employment Law Department, stated that “David joining us is excellent news for both the department and the firm. David has extensive experience in government and will bring all his knowledge to the table when advising our clients, especially on international taxation and transfer pricing matters”.

David said “Becoming a part of Uría Menéndez is enormously satisfying. I am sure that I will be able to contribute much of what I have learned so far while continuing to develop my career alongside the fine professionals who make up this firm”.
