Uría Menéndez first in Spain in the 2011 edition of Legal 500
The firm is ranked first in all practice areas analysed by the British directory
April 8, 2011Uría Menéndez again leads the way in Spain after being ranked first in Legal 500’s prestigious international ranking.
In addition to the top ranking in all practice areas analysed by the directory, the firm has improved its results this year with Insurance being included in the first band.
New to this edition of the directory is the inclusion of the area of Restructuring/Insolvency. Another novelty is the list of leading lawyers provided for each of the areas analysed.
The analysis did not include Capital Markets’ U.S. legal advice and Tax the Big Four (legal advice by consulting/auditing firms).

PORTUGAL
In Portugal the firm is mentioned in most of the areas analysed by the publication. This year the firm is ranked first in Real Estate and second in ten areas, including Corporate and M&A and Energy and Environment which moved up one position. The firm’s areas of TMT, Public Law, Restructuring/Insolvency are included in the third band and this year, for the first time, Intellectual Property.
