Ana Alós joined the Barcelona office of Uría Menéndez in 1998 and was appointed partner in 2016.
Ana specialises in employment and social security law and has extensive experience in work-related accidents and professional illnesses. She advises on sanctions, social security pensions and actions for damages, as well as in criminal proceedings in labour-related breaches. She has participated in several proceedings in connection with chemical intoxications and has drafted work-related accidents codes of good practice for different business activity sectors.
Ana also advises national and international clients in connection with discrimination and equality issues, drafting employment contracts, remuneration and working hours, social security contributions, collective bargaining agreements, sanctioning procedures, individual and collective dismissals and labour issues concerning mergers, acquisitions and company restructurings.
Ana cooperates with different non-profit making organizations advising on legal issues regarding work and conciliation of personal and professional life in families with seriously ill minors. In 2007 she successfully introduced an amendment to Law 3/2007 of 22 March for the equality on women and men that amended article 48.4. 5th paragraph of the Statute of Workers which extended maternity leave in cases when a new born is hospitalised after birth.

Teaching activity
Since 2006 Ana has lectured on various courses offered by the Barcelona Bar Association: Master’s Degree in Legal Practice, courses on employment and social security law and its Legal Practice School.
Since 2007 Ana has lectured on the Master’s Degree in Human Resources and the Master’s Degree on Executive Management offered by EADA (Escuela de Alta Dirección y Administración).
From 2004 to 2009 Ana taught on the Universidad de Barcelona’s practicum on e-commerce law.
Since 2015 Ana has lectured on various courses at ESADE Business & Law School (Ramon Llull University).
