Ignacio Zapata joined Uría Menéndez in 2016, being a member of the firm’s Finance and Banking group since then. He was seconded to the firm’s London office from September 2020 to August 2021.
His practice focuses mainly on Banking and Finance, as well as on M&A and general corporate law.
He has been involved in variety of finance deals, including leveraged and acquisition finance, dividend recaps, holdco financings, debt restructurings, project finance (with a renewable energy component) and real estate finance. He also assists clients in structured finance and securitisation programmes. He advises both financing sources (banks, institutional investors and private credit funds) and borrowers (usually backed by PE houses).
Additionally, Ignacio also advises Spanish and international clients (both sellers and buyers) on M&A transactions.
