Carlos García-Olías is the partner who heads up the Tax Practice Area of the Valencia office of Uría Menéndez. He joined the firm in 2002 after starting his professional career in the tax law department of KPMG and later working for the firm Bufete Barrilero.
Carlos regularly advises on restructuring transactions for corporate groups and on mergers and acquisitions, providing tax advice at both a national and international level. He frequently participates in due diligence processes conducted in the course of buying and selling companies.
He also advises on property transactions and on the tax concerns of high net worth Spanish nationals.

Between 1998 and 2001, Carlos lectured on tax auditing as part of the Master’s Degree in Corporate Tax Advice offered by the Instituto de Empresa in Madrid. He has also lectured at FUNDESEM Business School and on the advanced course on urban and territorial planning and management offered by the Fundación Universitat Empresa.
He is a regular speaker in courses and seminars organised by institutions such as the Centro de Estudios Financieros, Fundación de Estudios Bursátiles y Financieros and the Asociación Española de Asesores Fiscales.
