José Sánchez-Fayos joined Uría Menéndez in 2014. In 2018 he was seconded to the legal department of Repsol for six months. In October 2020 José moved to the London office of Uría Menéndez, where he was based for one year participating in cross-border financing and M&A transactions.
His professional practice is focused on maritime and transport law, and he regularly advise shipowners, port terminals, collaborative and urban mobility platforms, transport and logistic companies and other operators with international reach, including their financiers, on a wide range of commercial and financing matters.
He has experience in structured finance transactions for the construction of vessels (tax lease), asset finance, financing of port terminals and M&A and restructuring transactions mainly within the shipping, port and transport sectors. He also advises in matters relating to shipbuilding, ship repair, and sale and purchase of yachts, vessels, aircrafts and other transport assets.
