Major reforms to make Spanish courts more efficient

Royal Decree-law 6/2023 published on 20 December introduces significant changes, such as the use of virtual hearings, the introduction of the pilot case (pleito testigo) mechanism, the extension of the effects of rulings handed down in these cases and the regulation of the suspension of judicial proceedings when a reference is made to the ECJ for a preliminary ruling.
