Inês Caria Pinto Basto joined the Lisbon office of Uría Menéndez - Proença de Carvalho as a trainee lawyer in 2007 and became a managing associate in 2017.

Between 2008 and 2010 Inês was seconded to the firm’s London office and from 2012 to 2014 to the firm’s Madrid office, as an international associate.

Inês focuses her practice on banking and finance, financial regulatory, capital markets and securitisations.
She regularly advises clients on:

• local and cross-border financing transactions (in particular, project finance and acquisition finance deals);
• all regulatory aspects concerning financial activities (e.g. retail and investment banking, financial intermediation services and payment services);
• bonds, covered bonds and commercial paper issuances, securitisations, derivatives as well as asset-backed securitisations and other structured finance deals.
