Javier Redonet is a partner based in the Madrid office of Uría Menéndez. He joined the firm in 1997 and became a partner in 2008. Javier currently heads the Capital Markets Practice Area.
Javier specialises in company, finance and securities law. He advises on initial public offerings, issues and offers of shares, issues of bonds (including convertible bonds) and hybrid securities, as well as on tender offers and mergers and acquisitions. He regularly assists clients with general corporate and commercial law matters, regulatory issues concerning securities law, as well as listed companies on corporate governance issues.
Javier has been listed by renowned legal directories as a recommended lawyer in Spain for capital markets work.

Teaching activity
Javier was a lecturer on the Financial Markets Law Master’s Degree offered by ICADE’s Instituto de Postgrado y Formación Continua from 2000 to 2006. Between 2002 and 2010 he was also a lecturer on the securities market module of the Business Law Master’s Degree organised by Universidad Francisco de Vitoria, Fundación Carolina and the Madrid Bar Association.
Since 2012 he has taught the EU capital markets and securities law module of the Master’s Degree in International and European Business Law offered by ICADE’s Instituto de Postgrado y Formación Continua, and since 2013 the capital markets module of the International Law Master’s Degree offered by the Instituto Superior del Derecho y la Empresa.
