Uría Menéndez appoints seven new partners

The firm today announced the appointment of seven new partners, effective 1 January 2025. These appointments reinforce our commitment to nurturing talent from within, as they have all spent most of their careers at the firm.
Xavier Codina García-Andrade
Public Law, Madrid office. He advises on Spanish and European administrative law and regularly represents clients before domestic and European courts. He combines his legal work with teaching administrative and EU law.
Hélder Frias
Corporate, Lisbon office. He specialises in banking, finance and insurance law, including mergers of financial institutions and regulatory transactions. He advises on financial and insurance supervision, banking services and complex financial products, and he is an expert in regulated markets.
Francisco Javier García Pérez
Digital Law and Intangible Assets, Barcelona office. He advises on regulated and technological sectors such as pharmaceuticals, tobacco, e-commerce, and fashion. He specialises in intellectual and industrial property, technology litigation and data protection.
María García Roldán
Corporate, Madrid office. She specialises in M&A, private equity, joint ventures and corporate law, and has expertise in debt restructuring, real estate transactions and capital markets. She also advises on aviation law.
David López Velázquez
Corporate, Madrid office. He advises on corporate law, M&A, syndicated financings, foreign direct investments, private equity, gaming, and sports law. He is also part of the Digital Law and Intangible Assets team.
Violeta Pina Montaner
Tax, Madrid office. She specialises in international taxation, financial taxation (including insurance and capital markets), information exchange regulations and transfer pricing. She advises on tax litigation and has been actively involved in major M&A transactions and restructurings.
Guillermo del Río
Corporate, Madrid office. He specialises in private equity transactions, M&A and corporate law. He regularly advises private equity funds and industrial companies (both listed and unlisted) on domestic and international transactions across various sectors, including infrastructure and private equity.
