Emilio Díaz Ruiz is a partner in the Madrid office of Uría Menéndez. He joined the firm in 1981 and became a partner in 1989. His practice covers a wide range of corporate work but specialises in banking, capital markets, securitisations, project finance and financial regulatory matters, including undertakings for collective investment. He acts as external counsel to many banks and investment companies and has participated in the drafting of securities market regulations.

Emilio is regarded as a leading lawyer in Spain in banking and finance by international legal directories such as Chambers & Partners, IFLR 1000 and PLC Which Lawyer? Yearbook.

He was also considered as one of the leading banking lawyers worldwide by the 2007, 2008 and 2010 editions of the Best of the Best, an international guide to the top legal practitioners.
