Profile

Cristian Gual is a partner at Uría Menéndez. He leads the International Arbitration and Litigation team and heads the broader dispute resolution group in Barcelona. He graduated in philosophy and later in law and joined the firm in 2001. He was seconded to Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz in New York, where he worked with the Litigation, and Restructuring and Finance teams.

He focuses in complex civil and commercial disputes for both national and multinational companies. He has a wide experience in dealing with mass- and class- claims on matters relating to competition and non-material assets (antitrust private enforcement, unfair competition and IP), corporate disputes (director’s liability, securities litigation), as well as more general contractual liability and tort cases.

Cristian represents his clients before Spanish courts at all instances and in national and international arbitration proceedings. He has also handled mediation proceedings and has been appointed arbitrator in both institutional and ad hoc proceedings.
